Health System Reform

The group is in charge on the following missions:

• To monitor and exchange on the trends and reforms on health systems and health financing in Europe
• To contribute to the reflection within AIM on the major challenges and potential innovations for solidarity-based health care protection systems

ACTIVITIES:  

• Organising study visits in European countries (twice a year)
  to debate and exchange on health system and health financing reform topics
  (with eventual visit of pilot programmes or successful innovation activities)
• Monitoring of trends/innovations in the health (financing) system, through a short overview on interesting trends and innovations in the health system and health protection once a year (done by AIM staff)
  (based on information given by AIM members, the literature and the general news)
• Making a study on one specific topic in order to organise an international conference in 2013 on a health system topic: examples:
  o Is the competition in the health system/insurance sector improving the quality and efficiency of the health systems?
  o Will the availability of human resources lead our health policy?
  o The structuring of the first line, international lessons and experiences
